Makeup: Asian skin tends to be smooth and poreless with yellow undertones.

Foundation should have yellow tones in it. Try mixing a yellow tint foundation with a shade to get the color that works best with your skin. Blues, reds and purples look beautiful on Asian skin.
Trimming your eye brows with scissors rather than plucking is better. Eyebrows should be defined and darkened with a brow pencil.

Lashes, which tend to be short or straight, should be curled with an eyelash curler. Go exotic with the hair. Cut it in an interesting and provocative way. Try coloring it. This softens the look and the hair. Forget the processing, it gives too much volume.

Asian eyes need definition. Line the upper and the lower lids and smudge. This opens up and draws attention to them. Shadow colors should be cool grays, and sheer pale shades.

Plums with brown, red or mauve undertones work beautifully for lips. Sheer pinks are right if skin tone is pale. Earth tones corals work well and, of course, a rich, bright red is right when glamour is the top priority. Generally, these shades work well for Asian skin types: Sheer, beiges, pinks, plums, brown plums, bright reds, deep reds, pink mauves, mauves. Avoid strong pinks and oranges on the lips - they make you look hard. Light brown will make the skin look muddy.

Lipshades that look great with Asian coloring: Porsche Red, Rapture, Hocus Pocus, Rouge, Diva, Madness, Vamp, Quartz, Misty Mauve, Silk, Infinity, Devotion, Mulberry.

Emphasize cheeks by placing your color very high, right on top of the cheek pillows. A blush of dusty pink or plum on the cheeks will brighten the complexion.

Style tips
The high oriental collar with the look of polished silk is a classic style that works, from casual clothing to high fashion occasions. Delicate, sheer scarves make a soft, feminine fashion statement. "Jewelry isn’t meant to make you look rich. It’s meant to adorn you. And that’s not the same thing." - Cocoa Channel. Asian frames are usually small boned. Delicate and artful jewelry accents well. Semi precious stones like topaz, peridot, tourmaline and citrine are great colored semi-precious gems to add to this style. Pins are a wonderful ornament that can be worn at the shoulder, collar, hat or waist. Even on a cloth handbag.

HINT:
Wearing pins under your chin can make you look stout. Pins worn on the lapel or at the breast can be more slimming. Use color like you use makeup, to complement hair and skin tone and to bring out your eyes. Don’t be afraid of wearing shades that contrast with your natural coloring.
