Aging
first shows around lips, eyes, jawline, chin and neck in the form
of fine lines and sagging skin.
Sun
damage, environmental pollution, smoking, overeating, crash dieting,
the process of repeated facial expressions and loss of skin elasticity
over time can contribute to the appearance of aging, particularly
around the face and neck.
Getting a facelift or having skin proceedures performed by a dermatologist
or plastic surgeon is a way to deal with an aging appearance. If
these seem too drastic for you, perhaps doing some easy exercises
to stimulate blood circulation and strengthen muscle tone is another
option for you. Performing facial exercises can help to reduce some
of the facial signs of aging.
These
simple exercises only take a few minutes a day and you must do them
consistently in order to see results with strengthening and toning
your facial mucles. Toning and building muscles in your face is
just like toning muscles in other parts of the body. These excercises
are so simple, most can be done anywhere where you are alone and
have 5 minutes, driving the car, between floors in the elevator,
working at your computer, cooking dinner, during your morning or
evening toilet.
Rejuvenating
lips
What
are lips?
Lips
are actually mucous membranes covered by a thin layer of skin.
They have no natural melanin pigment to protect them and they
require protection from the elements. The environmental elements
of cold and sun, and a lack of B Vitamins can dry out the lips.
Keeping them protected with sunscreen and moisturizer is key to
keeping them hydrated.
Lip
care and maintenance
-Exfoliate
lips occasionally with a soft toothbrush or terry washcloth to
remove dead skin cells and increase blood circulation. Be gentle,
only brush away loose skin that falls away easily.
-Protect lips with a sunscreen
or hydrating gel.
-Moisturize lips and the area surrounding lips with almond
oil.

To
reduce lines and firm areas around lips, do these two exercises
once a day. They improve circulation, strengthen muscles and
improve the supply of moisture to the lip areas.
1.
With your mouth closed, inflate the skin on the sides of the
mouth and above your upper lip while keeping the upper lips
smooth and line free. Hold for15 seconds. Repeat 8-10 times.
2.
Tense the muscles around the lips while pressing the lips tightly
together for 8-10 seconds. Then form an O shape with the lips.
Tense the muscles in the lower lip at the corners of the mouth.
Hold 10 seconds. Repeat 10 times.

Lip Makeup: As we mature, our natural lipline weakens.
Here's a makeup technique to enhance lips
to give them a natural, fuller and healthier appearance:
Cover
the lips with foundation or concealer. Line the lips right at
the edges with a lipliner close to the natural shade of your lips.
Correct lip shape so that lips are symmetrical. Fill in the rest
of the lips with vertical strokes until lips are covered. Dust
lightly with loose translucent powder. Fill in with your favorite
natural daytime lipshade. To add subtle plumping to lips, dap
a little lip gloss or lip lacquor on the center of your lower
lip.

Rejuvenating the Jawline
The
chin and jaw areas tend to be places where blood flow can stagnate
as it moves upward against gravity.
Massaging the jaw area can release tension and increase circulation
of the blood that tends to pool and settle there accumulating
toxins and fat.
To stimulate blood circulation in the jaw line, try these exercises
daily:
1.
With both hands together, use your three middle fingers of your
right and left hands to press under the chin and hold for 8-10
seconds. Repeat this 6-7 times.
Repeat exercise pressing on the outer parts of the jaw.
2.
With your upper and lower lips pressed together, smile until you
feel tension under your jaw. Hold for 8-10 seconds and release.
Repeat 6-7 times.
