Pure
Water -
The fountain of youth.
How
much water do I need to dr ink? Its hard to get used
to drinking all the water experts say you need to maintain a healthy
body water level. Some sources say you should drink 5 glasses, some
say 6-8 and others say a minimum of 8 glasses of water is what you
should be drinking every day.
A
good rule to follow is to drink 5-8, eight-ounce servings of pure,
unfiltered water a day to enhance your health. Add more for each
hour of exercise or strenuous activity. Remember, by the time you
feel thirsty, your body is already experiencing the first stages
of dehydration.
Why is the consistent intake of water so important?
Daily we are exposed to toxic chemicals and environmental
pollutants and unlike our forefathers, we consume foods that are
processed and contain many different kinds of preservatives. In
todays fast moving world, our lifestyles are more stressful.
Our bodies require an increased intake of water which is the only
way our bodies can flush toxins and wastes out of our systems and
repair the physical damage that is done.
How does drinking water keep the body hydrated?
Water helps nearly every part of the human body function.
Changes in the amount of fluids in your body affect blood volume
and hydration in the body cells. Keeping the percentage of body
fluid consistent, helps the body to function properly. Water is
the most crucial nutrient in our body and affects athletic performance
more than any other nutrient.

Adequate
intake of pure water promotes the body's natural healing process.
It is needed by the body to prevent toxins and chemical substances
from accumulating and harming cells and to carry neurotransmissions
from one nerve cell to another effectively.
..................................
The
body is almost two thirds water. On average, the body loses
2.5 liters of water each day. Blood is 92% water. Bones are
22% water. Muscles are 75% water.Brain is 75% water. Even moderate
dehydration can cause headaches and dizziness.
...................................
Here
are some basic health benefits of water for the body:
Regulates body temperature
Carries nutrients
and oxygen to all cells in the body
Moistens oxygen for
breathing
Protects and cushions
vital organs
Helps to convert
food into energy
Helps body absorb
nutrients
Removes waste
Why
is it imortant to drink pure, filtered water?
Unfortunately,
most tap water contains chemical and toxic contaminants. Replenishing
body water with pure, filtered water is important because it
helps to avoid adding unwelcome contaminants into the blood
steam.
When water
in the blood is contaminated with chemicals, it changes the
cell structure, which can lead to changes in DNA and the beginning
of the disease process, which is very similar to the aging process.
Pure water brings the minerals and nutrients required for cell
metabolism, and removes substances that can damage the cell.

Water
intake usually decreases as you age.
As we age the brain does not alert the body of dehydration as
quickly which decreases the awareness that we are thirsty. Also
the amount of water in the body decreases as we age. This is basically
because of an increase in fat, a decrease in muscle and a diminishing
ability for the body to regulate sodium and water balance. Kidney
function becomes less efficient in producing urine in an effort
to conserve sodium.

Misting
your face and body for external skin hydration helps in anti-aging.
Keeping
your skin hydrated externally, as well as internally, is also
beneficial in anti-aging and keeping the skin healthy. This is
particularly important to those with dry or maturing skin.
Hydrating
skin externally is especially important in air conditioned rooms,
dry, arid climates and in airplanes. Pressurized cabins in airplanes
dehydrate the skin.
Keeping the
air in your environment from being too dry can help to avoid dehydration
of the skin. Moisture can be added to your environment with plants,
humidifiers and by placing open containers of water around the
house.
Using a hydrating
mist is a great way to keep skin hydrated where ever you are.
Hydrating mists (or hydro-mists) in spritzer bottles are formulated
specifically for externall hydrating of the skin and can be easily
carried with you. Misting the skin can be done as often as you
like.
Hydro-mists
that contain botanical essential oils have the added positive
benefits of aromatherapy. The combination is refreshing and benefitial
to the mind and body. When using a hydrating mist with an essential
oil, be sure to avoid sparying into the eyes for obvious reasons.
