Important
vitamins for the skin: Vitamins E, A, C and B are
very important as topical supplements in skin creams.
Vitamin
E
is easily aborbed by cell membranes and forms a protective antiioxidant
defense against sun damage and free radical damage. Vitamin
E has been used for years for people who have suffered burns
to repair inflamation, skin tissue and scar tissue. Also it is effective
in treating sun burn by reducing redness and sensitivity. Vitamin
A (also called Retinyl palmitate) can penetrate the skin with
nourishing effects which results in smoother skin with more elasticity.
It is also effective in reversing sun damage and protecting against
antioxidents.
Vitamin
C is a powerful antioxidant that regenerates and strengthens
collagen-producing fibers in the skin. Since it is a water soluble
substance, it is easily absorbed into the skin. It's important to
note that Absorbic Acid is not Vitamin C but a small element of
it. Real Vitamin
C is a complex made up of multiple ingredients such as the P
factors, vitamin K, vitamin J, enzymes and many other unknown organic
factors.
Vitamin
B complex is also called panthenol and d-pantenol. It is effective
for the skin and hair and has been shown to repair and regenerate
skin tissue and provide lasting moisturization. It is used for relief
from skin problems, including dry and itchy skin and rashes.
What
can I do about aging?
Beginning
in their thirties, women experience a loss of elasticity caused
by the natural drop in estrogen levels but the good news is that
it's never too late to begin to slow the appearance of aging.
Growing
older is inevitable but there are some basic things that you can
do to slow the aging process and live a healthier life:
Wear sunscreen protection of an SPF of 15 or more; drink a minimum
of 8 cups of non-caffinated, nonalcoholic unsweetened fluids a day,
10-12 cups if you are doing one hour of daily exercise; get plenty
of sleep, 9 plus hours is optimum; eat a balanced diet, rich in
fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads and cereals, legumes,
soy protein, white fish and tuna, olive oil, fat free cheeses, unsweetened
yogurt, and organic apple cider. Also a good
daily skin care regimen is helpful to keep skin looking healthy
and to deter the visible signs of aging.

A way to get rid of cellulite
permanently? Yes, finally.
90% of post-pubescent
women deal with the heartbreak of the ugly, bumpy appearance of
cellulite, a condition that is usually inherited and for which,
traditionally, there has been no remedy. Cellulite is caused when
very fine fibrous strands connected to underlying tissue, called
septae, have lost their flexibility and will not stretch to accommodate
the increases in body mass. As a result, they hold skin in a fixed
position, causing the skins surface to bulge out giving
the appearance of lumpy fat spots in those areas.
Procedures
to date, such as endermologie or cellulite creams, provide little
or no improvement and clinical studies published in the highly
respected journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Vol. 104.
No.4), the most widely read plastic surgery journal in the world,
conclude that Cellulite treatments with endermologie or
cellulite creams provide little or no improvement. The study
concludes that neither aminophylline creams nor endermologie is
effective in the treatment of cellulite.
Liposuction,
which sucks out the fatty deposits from the deeper skin layers,
treats the symptoms of the problem, not the cause, so these treatment
must be repeated multiple times incurring costs, down time and
surgical risks.
It
is now possible that the days of embarrassment and frustration
about the bumpy appearance of cellulite are over. A new treatment
for the permanent removal of cellulite was recently highlighted
on Fox News. It is called RejuveSkin Treatment and is performed
under light sedation, using a several custom designed, patent-pending
electronic instruments to remove the traces of cellulite
permanently.
This procedure is not liposuction. It is a less invasive surgical
procedure that does not involve the suction of fatty material
to remove body weight. Rather it removes the cause of cellulite,
the septae, which results in a permanent solution to the problem.
As in all surgical procedures, even in simple procedures such
as this one, some bruising and swelling may occur and last for
several weeks, but the final result leaves patients virtually
cellulite-free. The cost of this procedure is about $4000.
The
RejuveSkin Treatment procedure was developed by a triple-board
certified aesthetic plastic surgeon, Stephen X. Guinta, M. D.,
F.A.C. S., a highly respected aesthetic plastic surgeon with over
30 years of surgical experience. The treatment is available only
at authorized RejuveSkin Clinics located in Alexandria (Washington,
D.C.), Honolulu, Hawaii, and South Miami Beach, Florida. Additional
clinics will be opening in six states in the next few months.

Cellulite:
Can anything be done about it?
Cellulite is
found in both overweight and slim women but excess weight makes
cellulite worse. It is considered a normal occurrence resulting
from uneven fatty deposits, mostly below the waistline. Cellulite
is the accumulation of fat, fluid and toxins that become trapped
in the deeper level of your skin. Cellulite is mostly a women's
problem. Men tend to have lower percentages of body fat than women.
Most of the
treatments advertised today that include pills, suction machines,
creams and wrapping the skin are not really effective solutions
to getting rid of cellulite.
Liposuction
can surgically remove fat cells but it is not a permanent solution
and requires repeating the treatment over and over again.
New medical
procedures are being developed to surgically remove the causes
of cellulite that in turn eliminate the future formation of cellulite
fat cells.
If you are
prone to cellulite, lifestyle changes through diet and exercise
are a way to help reduce the fat cell formation. Exercise such
as swimming, walking and stretching, keep muscles in tone and
connective tissue fibers healthy and increases blood circulation.
A good anti-cellulite diet includes eating low-fat, low-sugar,
high fiber foods especially fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole
grains.
Here are more
things you can do to reduce the formation cellulite.
Drink
lots of water. Water flushes toxins out of the body.
Have regular bowel movements
*Dont smoke. Smoking causes poor blood circulation and contributes
to premature aging of the skin.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Avoid heavily processed and sugary foods.
Avoid salty foods as they increase water retention and make
cellulite appear worse.
Take Vitamin C.
Maintain a normal, healthy body weight. Yo-yoing weight
with diets make cellulite worse.
Boost your circulation by using a brush,
loofah or a massage
glove daily for at least 5 minutes.
Massage
your skin with
almond oil. This may improve blood circulation and lymphatic
drainage.
Do deep breathing excercises to relax and release tension
